Queer parents, parents to-be, allies and little ones are welcome to join us for the fourth installment of this monthly mixers for families, this time featuring kid's yoga, brought to you by Carley Remsburger.
Carley Remsburger is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Trauma-Informed Weightlifting Coach, and Kid’s Yoga Teacher! Growing up in the Hudson Valley, she spent much of her life outdoors, hiking, and playing sports. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Child Development from SUNY Plattsburgh and has worked as a preschool teacher, a gymnastics coach, and most recently- a kid’s yoga teacher! It is her greatest priority to help children and adults alike learn how to feel at home in their body, and to feel confident and comfortable expressing themselves through movement. Kid’s yoga is such a fun way to introduce concepts like dealing with anxiety or lack of confidence early on in life and creating a strong foundation for developing healthy habits. When she is not teaching yoga or training folks throughout the Hudson Valley, she can be found powerlifting for the USAPL, crocheting a little hat, or spending time with her wife and two cats!

For our Queer Parent’s Mixer Kid’s Yoga Class, we’ll go through an hour long session tailored to the 7-12 age range, with plenty of variations for different ages and abilities all throughout. We’ll start with a warm-up to get our bodies moving, do some classic yoga poses, and then get into fun partner poses and games! Parents are encouraged to participate with younger kiddos (under 4-5) while the older kids can participate by themselves- be sure to bring along your own yoga mat or beach towel! Coach Carley will spend some time talking about the benefits of yoga for all ages, and touch upon Trauma-Informed fitness and the amazing things that moving our body can do for us!
Come hang in our backyard or let the kiddos run free in our ballroom where 39 disco balls reside and reflect tantalizing, moving lights that warrant chasing. Either way, we promise ample entertainment and opportunity for the adults to get in a few words edgewise.
