Mitra has learnt from childhood from mother, the noted classical vocalist Srimati Durba Bhattacharyya, for 5 years, and has been taking advanced Taalim in the specialised nuances of Hindustani Raagsangeet since last 12 years from father and renowned Top Grade classical vocalist Pandit Shantanu Bhattacharyya. She has had the greatest of fortunes to get affectionate guidance and blessings from immortal legends as Guruma Meera Bandopadhyay, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Guru Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. Mitra has stood first in some of the National level Raagsangeet competitions and has performed at honoured venues of the country and abroad. Musical Achievements: • First Prize in Khayal at the All India Music Competition organised by Kajalrekha Musical Foundation, Kolkata; 2020. • Second Prize in Khayal at the Talent Search Contest organised by Sutanati Parishad, Kolkata; 2020. • Budding Young Musician’s Award from Sutanati Parishad, Kolkata; 2019. Musical Performances: • Kolkata: Rabindra Sadan (2013), Shrutinandan (2009), Gyan Manch (2014), Gandhi Bhavan (2015, ’16, ’17, ’18 & ’19), Kolkata Centre for Creativity (2021). • Bangalore (2006 & ‘10). • Pondicherry (2006, ’07, ’08 & ’15). • Agartala (2009 & ’18). • Ambala (2010), Chandigarh (2010), Patiala (2010). • Florence (Italy, 2015). • Toronto (Canada, 2005 & ’07). • Los Angeles (USA, 2007). She is currently pursuing an Honours degree in Comparative Literature from Jadavpur University.
