ABOUT
Laurent grew up in a music-loving family and became very passionate for music. He began studying piano at the age of 6, then enlarged his palette of colors by studying percussion: classical and contemporary first, then the percussion of various continents (congas, cajon, balafons of West Africa), the battery, the Hang and the Handpans. The conservatoire's academic program (gold medal and DEM) allows him to use written music. Internships, master classes, and study trips abroad encourage him to use oral traditions and improvised music. Thus, he readily establishes bridges between the different modes of musical expression. Laurent performs in formations with very different aesthetics and accompanies artists in their project on stage and / or studio in France and internationally. On the pedagogical side, Laurent studied pedagogy because he wanted to share his passion for music. Enabling others to find their own musical path is their main goal. He followed a course at the CEFEDEM of Poitiers, where he obtained the State Degrees of Music Training and Percussion (1997). He then taught at several conservatories, and at Mamady Keita's School of African Arts "Tam Tam Mandingue". In 2001, his research and his musical profile led him to obtain the Certificate of Aptitude of Professor Coordinator of Amplified Contemporary Music, from where he releases a very eclectic and personal educational project. Currently, he is Professor of Artistic Education in CRR Grand-Poitiers in France.
