ABOUT
Indrajit Basu had a keen interest in Indian Classical music since his early childhood. Listening to all types of music was like breathing for him since his earliest years but he found Indian Classical Music as the most attractive genre of music amongst all. The Indian transverse bamboo flute ir AARBANSHI was selected by him as medium of musically expressing himself without any conscious decision, and the keen urge to learn Indian Classical Music took him to Pandit late Nikhilesh Roy of Rabindra Bharati University. By profession an IPS Officer in West Bengal Government presently posted as Additional Superintendent of Police, Baruipur, Indrajit does his riwaz daily despite strict constraints of his job. Performances: He has performed in numerous programmes wherever he was posted in his professional life. He has a strong liking to collaborate with different classical musicians, both vocalists and instrumentalists and play Jugalbandi. In quite a few occasions he has played Jugalbandi with Sitar, Santoor, Sehnai, Sarode, Violin and Vocals. Some of his performances were at Dover Lane Music Conference, Uttarpara Sangeet Chakra Annual Program, Bhowanipore Sangit Sammilani, Paschimbanga Rajya Sangeet Academy ( RSA ) Annual Conference, Sabarna Sangeet Sammilani, Ustad Keramatullah Khan Birth Anniversary Program, Choudhury House Music Conference, Salt Lake Music Festival, NADAM Music Festival, Belur Math-Sampriti Utsav, Dakshini Sangeet Sammilani, Sangeet Piyasi Annual Conference, Some of the great accompanyists who accompanied him on Tabla are: Pandit Samar Saha, Pandit Abhijit Banerjee, Pandit Sujit Saha, Pandit Gopal Mishra.
