Sanskrit Chants by Devika "I love to sing hymns in Sanskrit. This amazing cultural activity brings abundant light into my life. When I teach Sanskrit Chants to children and adults, I focus on the meaning, correct pronunciation, recitation, and singing of various Sanskrit Chants from ancient Indian scriptures. I share my knowledge and blessings with anyone who wishes to learn and participate. My paternal grandfather, Dr. Shrinivas Kshirsagar, instructed me in various scriptures and the Vedanta philosophy. At his insistence, I have sung the opening prayer for large Chinmaya Mission and other gatherings. While studying music at the Pandit Jasraj Institute, I learned to sing many Sanskrit stotras composed by Bade Guruji Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj ji and Guruji Pta. Tripti Mukherjee ji. So grateful and blessed! I have also taught Indian Classical music to children and adults for 7 years in New York and New Jersey. This was part of my learning program at the Pandit Jasraj Institute. Singing Sanskrit compositions in melodious raagas is a blissful experience - one that cannot be described in words. One has to experience it first-hand. It is a source of incredible life energy!" - Devika Thakkar Devika is an engineer and a musician. She works in the Analytics, Intelligence, and Data Technology department within Wealth Management Technology at Morgan Stanley. Devika founded Crystal Lighthouse Productions to celebrate, promote, and publish the works of artists and creatives.
