“Bhavana Reddy was marvelously judicious.” -- The New York Times, Alastair Macaulay “She dances like lightning ” -- The Hindu, Shri Sunil Kothari Bhavana Reddy, internationally acclaimed young Kuchipudi Indian Classical Dancer, Assistant Choreographer, daughter and disciple of Raja Radha Reddy, Faculty at Natya Tarangini. She is a recipient of National Awards - the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar & FICCI Young Women Achievers Award and many more. Bhavana Reddy started her Kuchipudi formal training at the tender age of 4 and was considered a dancing child prodigy then itself. In 1998 Los Angeles Times review headlined “Indian Classical Soloists Stand Out” made mention of “The Reddys’ 8-year-old daughter, Bhavana, also made her mark, displaying a budding ability to mesmerize in her own solo.” - Jennifer Fisher Nearing three decades of performances, she frequently tours the USA, Europe, South East Asia & the UAE. Amongst notable solo performances include Temple of Fine Arts Malaysia, National Museum Copenhagen, performances for the Vice President of India, Election Commission, Kala Academy, Goa, Mudra Festival NCPA, and so on. She was invited by the Embassy of India, USA and Kennedy Center Washington to present a solo evening of Kuchipudi Dance for the Foreign Minister of India and esteemed ambassadors of other nations. She has also performed at Khajuraho Dance Festival, Music Academy Chennai, Elephanta Festival, Konark Dance Festival as principal soloist for her parents Dr.s Raja Radha Reddy (Padma Bhushan awardees). She has performed at various prestigious venues for countless dignitaries around the world. Bhavana is a B.com (Hons) commerce graduate from Lady Shri Ram College and holds an AA degree in Vocal Performance and Composition/ Production from Musicians Institute Hollywood all while pursuing a solo professional career in Kuchipudi. She was invited to choreograph Kuchipudi and star in the production of Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, ‘Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring’ at the prestigious Walt Disney Concert Hall Los Angeles. Bhavana is an empanelled member of Indian Council of Cultural Relations. She is a Director at India’s premiere Kuchipudi Dance Institution & Performing Arts Center Natya Tarangini in Delhi and the Founding Director of International Institute of Kuchipudi Dance teaching students from USA, Europe, UK, India, Singapore and UAE.
