ABOUT
Abhijit Kastha was born in a music loving family. at a very early age he started his training under sri Chanl Biswas and then sri Subir Mukherjee. at the age of 17 he started taking taalim under the tutelage of the tabla virtuoso Pt Subhankar Banerjee of Farukhabad Gharana. he has gained knowledge about the various aspects of tabla under his guru of the last 20 years . Abhijit acquired bechelors and masters degree in percussion (tabla) music from Rabindra Bharati University and obtained the first class. Abhijit received National Scholarship from the Govt of India Ministry of Culture he also received Kajalrekha scholarship by the Kajalrekha Musical Foundation. he secured the third position in Doverlane Music competition he also secured the first position in Nehuru Talent Search Contest. he received the reputable Mahadeolal Gangadebi Saraogi Memorial award by Rotary Club of Kolkata. Abhijiy is a graded artist of All India Radio.
