Guitarist Will Bernard celebrates the release of his new album "Pond life" -  out May 27.

Will Bernard's new album "Pond Life" explores a lesser known side of Will's composing and playing. This music delves into his more adventurous side and features some of the players from the "Downtown" music scene such as Ches Smith, Tim Berne, Chris Lightcap and John Medeski. Pond Life's expanded palate explores sonic excursions, free jazz through-composed pieces but never completely leaves the blues.

 
Will began playing and recording as a member of Peter Apfelbaum’ss Hieroglyphics Ensemble who made their recorded debut with Don Cherry on Multikulti (A&M 1989). Since then, Bernard has participated in a host of boundary stretching groups, ranging from jazz, hip-hop and world music to experimental music, with many stops in between.
