Feral Foster started Roots n' Ruckus in late 2005, at 19 years old, at the now-defunct Village Ma on MacDougal St. He brought it to Jalopy Theatre in January of 2008. A weekly show for 17 years at Jalopy, Roots n' Ruckus- is back with its annual festival. Ruckus (as it is often called) is a free weekly show that has helped build the contemporary NYC folk music scene and launch the careers of a number of artists. Every year Roots n' Ruckus celebrates its legacy with a 4 day festival. This year we are back for 20+ acts over 4 days of in person talent, and as always, it's free!
