Mandolin virtuoso Mike Marshall and Brazilian guitar master Alessandro Penezzi come together for a luminous evening rooted in the elegance, swing, and rhythmic fire of Brazilian choro. Their collaboration—sparked in 2024 and quickly carried to international stages and recordings—unites two musicians who have each shaped the modern landscape of acoustic instrumental music.

A three-time Grammy nominee, Marshall is renowned for his genre-defying work across bluegrass, classical, jazz, and Brazilian music, with decades of groundbreaking recordings, collaborations, and global touring. Penezzi, widely regarded as one of Brazil’s leading choro artists and premier seven-string guitarists, is celebrated for his virtuosic technique, award-winning recordings, and deep command of Brazil’s most sophisticated popular tradition.

Together, they create music that is conversational, daring, and deeply alive—honoring choro’s rich lineage while pushing it forward through fearless improvisation, lyrical beauty, and joyful musical exchange.
