Nestled somewhere between post-punk and synth pop, LA's LOS MICROWAVES consisted of bass, drums, and analog synths, and created music that was made for the dance floor as much as the punk club. Dormant since the 80's, they've re-formed with two original members and have added members of Tuxedomoon, The Units, Nervous Gender... they'll be playing Avalon on the heels of a Brooklyn show with the Bush Tetras, their first NYC appearance since '83!

Rose Club is a rotating collective of East Coast producers and DJs. The group uses a minimal touch, stripping the production setup back to a drum machine, sampler and distortion pedal. The project's roots in New Jersey are evidenced by their beats—dense polyrhythms constructed from club breaks, 909 toms and crisp, overdriven hi hats. Tracks begin and end with beats, noise elements slowly oozing out of the unrelenting grooves along the way.
