Locomotive is a double trio co-led by saxophonist-composer David Leon and trumpeter-composer Adam O’Farrill.  The band creates a contemporary sound rooted in jazz and musics from Cuba, Venezuela, and Brazil. Named after Thelonious Monk’s composition, of which the band has a changüi-inspired arrangement, Locomotive operates at the crossroads of folkloric tradition and experimental practice, provoking listeners to dance, think, and everything in between.
