Life Like Water :: Celebrate the Human Experience
Life Like Water is the creation of multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter, David Matters. It was initially started as a way for him to process his turbulent past and navigate an uncertain future, but it has since evolved into a communal effort to celebrate the human experience, with a focus on hypnotic rhythms, elegant vocal harmonies, and melodies with tastes of Africa, Ireland and the Middle East.
Høly River :: Waking Up to Join the Revolution
The music of Høly River carries the message of humanity’s need for reconnection with the earth. Mystically political and wholeheartedly grassroots this DIY band finds themselves playing on large festival stages as well as backyard fire pits of intentional communities around the world.
Høly River was founded by multi-instrumentalists Laney Sullivan and Jameson Price. Fusing together the pulse of drone pop, worldly instrumentation, this experimental music would best be described as a landscape, as a biome all its own. This musical phenomenon has come to be known as, Earth folk, a type of music inspired thematically by the natural environment: flora, fauna, soil, stars, and the human experience.

Join us for an exploration of embodied anatomy, creative expression, and imaginal journeying accompanied by multi-instrumental live looping and electronic beats.
We will reflect on the anatomical and physiological form and function of our human legs and feet, the symbolic meaning of these body parts, and how creative play can deepen our connection to our inner mythologies and collective nature.
We will allow curiosity and creativity to guide us towards exploring how our legs and feet can guide us, ground us, balance us, and support our walk through this life.

The Hawk & Hawthorne is a practicing permaculture community & regenerative event venue nestled just north of Asheville, NC. Check out the short video below for a glimpse into the magick.
Set in a retrofitted heritage tobacco barn amidst an expansive valley full of fruit trees, gardens, spring fed ponds & majestic views, The Hawk has been an organic gathering point for the Asheville & Barnardsville community for over 30 years, hosting hundreds of weddings, workshops & intimate live performances.
--> We are a non-alcoholic venue. Buchi Kombucha, Kefir Soda & Homemade Elixirs & food from our garden will be available at the bar. (Cash preferred; venmo/cards OK.)

Our finances work differently than other venues. We are small, independent and non-alcoholic space, which means we have to charge more for tickets to make our numbers work.
We love producing shows for the community -- and it's financially risky. We value both accessibility for the community and paying our artists & crew what they ask, while caring for the land as well. It's a continuous balancing act.
