-- The Brooklyn based Mediterranean surf trio Led by guitarist Amit Peled, channel the rare repertoire of Mediterranean music by guitar giants such as Aris San and Omar Khorshid. Retro-Mediterranean-hits are brought to life with renditions to songs by Umm Kulthum, Ahuva Ozeri, Farid Al-Atrache, Tzlilay Ha’Oud, TLC, Daklon, Britney Spears, Margol, Blondie, Dick Dale, and Link Wray and more.
The band is set to make every concert turn into an unforgettable celebration of life. Their dedication to the lineage of Mediterranean music along with their unstoppable energy, and one of a kind sound is what makes @habbina_habbina one of the most interesting bands to come out of NYC today.
@hinterlandsmusic is a post-folk accordion & violin duo that draws from disparate influences to create a volatile chemistry that is entirely their own. Ben Russell’s drone-heavy violin and vocal stylings draw inspiration from Appalachian song and his work with Max Richter and Johann Johannson. Matt Schreiber's frenzied accordion bursts call upon soulful music traditions of the Balkans. Seamlessly weaving together threads of vernacular music, improvisation, and songcraft, Hinterlands leaves audiences feeling that they have journeyed through vibrant landscapes of shapes and sound.
