FAQ
What is Cacao?
Cacao is a tropical fruit, rich with antioxidants including theobromine known to contain an amino acid called tryptophan that assists the human brain to produce the neurotransmitter Serotonin, which can increase feelings of overall happiness. When consumed, cacao stimulates the brain to release endorphins, lower our stress levels, and give us a general sense of wellbeing.
Cacao has been shared through the millennia as a very important source of physical and spiritual nourishment. It was a measure of exchange, and its value is increased by sharing! In the Mayan tradition, cacao has been used as a sacrament of community connection and Love. It is known as the “Food of the Gods”, and an “Elixir of Love”. Cacao opens the heart and allows for a deeper connection to self and others.
Ceremonial cacao is a high-quality, minimally processed chocolate that has been shared through the millennia as a very important source of physical and spiritual nourishment in a variety of ceremonies, including births, marriages, negotiations, and as offerings. Ceremonial Cacao can also be used to help ground the mind, body, and spirit, and to open up new creative pathways and connections to nature, community, and spirit.
