Join us on Thursday, September 11th for a special edition of Balkan Night! We'll be welcoming Bulgarika, a unique folklore band playing traditional music from all the Bulgarian regions, to Unicorn for the night. Come over to join hands with members of your community and dance from start to end!
Based in the US, Bulgarika features a core group of accomplished Bulgarian musicians that perform traditional Bulgarian music and dances, known for its haunting melodies, complex rhythms, and energetic tempos. Led by musician Nikolay Kolev, the ensemble includes internationally recognized vocalist Donka Koleva and other skilled instrumentalists, and plays a variety of Bulgarian musical styles, drawing on both formal and informal training, and often perform at folk dance events, cultural centers, and educational institutions across the US.
We're excited to see them perform for the first time at Unicorn! $10 adv/$15 door.
