YOTOCO is a 5-member Brooklyn-based Latin band combining the Puerto Rican Cuatro Guitar with the driving rhythms of Afro-Carribean Folklore, Son Cubano, Cumbia, Salsa, and Plena. The members are from diverse backgrounds giving the band a unique sound and approach to traditional styles.

Natalia Perez, from Yotoco en Valle del Cauca, Colombia, is one of the three lead singers and propels the rhythm with her masterful güiro playing. Sebastian Lopez, also a native of Colombia, is a self-taught bassist, lyricist, a lead singer, and brilliant songwriter. Geo Caldero from Corzal, Puerto Rico grew up playing both the Cuatro and the drums of traditional Plena (known as ‘panderos’), and singing with his musical family deep in the mountains of his beloved island. His poetic decimas have on occasion brought people to tears merely from the nostalgia crafted in his beautiful lyrics. He brings his knowledge of folkloric Puerto Rican music to the band which has helped to revitalize this rich musical history throughout NYC and beyond.
The powerful rhythm section is Gabo Tomasini on congas, originally from Hatillo, PR, and a founding member of renowned salsa band BioRitmo, along with NYC’s own Gianni Mano on timbales who is also bandleader of the innovative Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra. Gabo & Gianni's extensive experience in popular and folkloric Latin rhythms forms one of the tightest duos currently working. Your feet will have no choice but to dance throughout the show! With soulful harmonies, original melodies, and pulsating rhythms, Yotoco is pioneering a refreshing sound in Latin music. Yotoco’s new album is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2024 on all platforms.
