We Are X

Some may not be familiar with X Japan, yet their comprehensive documentary We Are X proves their storied history and ardent fanbase would rival most American rock groups. The film explores their unique and tumultuous journey, from their early history as progenitors of visual kei (Japan’s equivalent to glam rock), to the devastating losses of bandmates hide and Taiji, to even frontman Yoshiki’s near-debilitating health problems, all culminating in an epic performance at Madison Square Garden.
