Tropical Vortex presents: REY VALLENATO BETO JAMAICA

Rey Vallenato Beto Jamaica is one of Colombia’s most revered accordionist - he was actually crowned Vallenato King the prestigious Leyenda Vallenata Festival Competition in 2006. 

Vallenato, of course, is Colombia’s Caribbean coast most beloved style and is in great part responsible for cumbia’s international popularity. Beto Jamaica has spent his career updating the traditional elements of vallenato by adding electric bass, congas, and timbales to the traditional lineup of accordion, guacharaca (a tube-shaped percussion instrument scraped with a metal “fork”) and caja vallenata - while never losing sight of the music’s roots. 

A star in Colombia with two Top 10 hits, Beto has toured across South and Central America and Europe.
