For the past three decades, he has often written or edited for projects that promoted scientific, skeptical thinking (such as being director of publications at the American Council on Science and Health) or that promoted libertarian approaches to politics (such as writing for TV correspondents John Stossel and Judge Andrew Napolitano).

He is the author of the book Libertarianism for Beginners, a graduate of Brown University, and a resident of New York City.
