A music video release party and special guest music performances in celebration of one of Africa's greatest classical music traditions. Viewcy presents: The Music of Niger.

Buying a ticket to this event, is a contribution to the musicians. There are different tiers so you can contribute as much as you like.

Curated by Yacouba Moumouni, The Music of Niger is a community gathering to raise awareness and funds for 4 masterful music groups in Niger and beyond.  The video music premier will feature Mamar Kassey, Wasika Dounia, Tempete, and Lambi-lanfa. They will be followed by live music performances by Rufus Capadoccia and Abdullah Alassane.

Viewcy Sessions are about discovering new music, as curated by the musicians themselves, and paying tribute to those musicians with a meaningful income. By buying a ticket, you are directly supporting these artists. A portion of the money raised also going to funding the next series of sessions from Niger.  

Yacouba was orphaned at 10 years old. After a 2-week journey by foot to the capital, he played music on the street for two years to survive. A local maestro, recognizing his talent, took him in under his wing. Yacouba is now the maestro.  This series are a way for Yacouba to "take in" musicians who deserve a platform, and deserve to be paid for their contribution to all of us. It is also a way for Yacouba to take us in. Now, we too can view the world of music through his lens. We can discover, appreciate, and contribute as well.

This event will be hosted by Dina Satti, Ehren Hanson, and REFOREST (Greg Kieser!). A feast will be prepared by Ehren Hanson, and special guest performances by local maestros will accent this amazing evening.
