The Love-In is a Nashville-based indie band consisting of Laurel Sorenson, Theo King, and Michael Rasile. The band formed in 2016, and since then have honed their genre-bending arrangements to present Sorenson’s incisive lyrical observations and powerful vocals with a chest-out vulnerability towards relationships, racial identity, sex, and culture.
Their new album Revel (produced by Tone Def) is a concept record that uses The Love-In’s signature combination of memorable melodies, irresistible grooves, and lush soundscapes to create a glamorous world of fantasy. Revel yanks the listener from dreams to reality and back again, until the two are indistinguishable.
This cinematic approach to music has landed The Love-In a variety of synch placements, including the use of their songs “Revel,” “As it Lays,” “America,” and “Freedom of Sexpression,” by Fox Sports.
While their recorded music is painstakingly crafted, The Love-In’s live performances contain all of the spontaneity one could want in a rock show. It’s rollicking and raw, tender and touching, and certainly not one to miss.
