Come one, come all to the first annual baseball extravaganza at Jalopy Theater presented by the Formerly Unemployed Musicians Baseball League (FUMBL)! The evening will feature baseball themed songs, skits, dances and vintage silent films with original live scores played by the FUMBL-tone orchestra, including the world premiere of “Day of the Catch” an original film made by FUMBL all stars Jared Engel & Albin Pepe.
Starring in the musical acts, we have an impressive roster of musicians from the bluegrass, jazz and indie scenes who met on the baseball field:
Chris Luquette (Guitar, LF), Dennis Lichtman (Clarinet, 2B), Curtis Brewer (Guitar, P), Mitchell Cheng (Piano, 3B), Ricky Stein (Vocals, SS), Aidan Scrimgeour (Keyboards, C), Gabe Terracciano (Fiddle, 1B), Billy Conahan (Guitar, CF), Ethan Crystal (Vocals, RF), and many others.
FUMBL was founded in the summer of 2020 when a group of then unemployed musicians seized the opportunity to get enough people together to play the sport they grew up with but hadn’t played in decades. The team is grateful to be a part of the growing sandlot baseball community in NYC.
There will be hotdogs (including vegan and GF options!) and FUMBL merch for sale! Bring your gloves and scorebooks and make sure to get your tickets in advance!
