Welcome to the 9th session of the series Sounds of Banaras. This session aims to introduce young and promising artists of Banaras on Viewcy.

#1: Hindustani Classical Vocal - Khyal
Artists: Purnesh Bhagwat

The session begins with a Hindustani classical vocal performance by Purnesh Bhagwat. Purnesh presents a traditional rendition of Raag Chayanat, followed by a rare form of music musical, called Tappa in Raag Kafi. Purnesh is accompanied by Siddharth Chakraborty (on Tabla), Mohit Sahani (on Harmonium), and Gopal Sahani (on Tanpura).

#2: Flute
Artists: Dr Shanish Kumar gyawali

Up next is a Flute recital, performed by Dr. Shanish Kumar Gyawali. He presents Raag Gorakh Kalyan, followed by a Pahadi Dhun. He is accompanied by Pankaj Rai on tabla.

We end the session with a Kathak performance by Amrit Mishra. He is accompanied by Vishal Mishra (on Vocal and Harmonium), Anand Mishra (on Tabla and Bol Padhant), Ravi Prajapati (on Flute) and Siddhant Chakraborty (on Sitar).
