Welcome to the 5th session of the series Sounds of Banaras. This session aims to introduce young and promising artists of Banaras on Viewcy.
#1: Khyal
Artists: ISHAN GHOSH
The session begins with a Hindustani classical vocal khyal recital by Ishan Ghosh. Ishan presents Raag Shyam Kalyan, followed by a Surdas bhajan. Ishan is accompanied by Pankaj Rai (on tabla), Pankaj Sharma (on harmonium), and Satyam Rakhauliya (on tanpura).

#2: Mohan Veena
Artists: Raghvendra narain
Up next is a unique instrument, called the Mohan Veena, performed by Raghvendra Narain. The Mohan Veena, conceptualized and developed by Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, combines elements of sitar and guitar. Raghavendra is accompanied by Ankit Kumar Singh on tabla.

#3: Dhrupad
Artists: Supriyo Maitro
The event concludes with a traditional dhrupad recital by Supriyo Maitro. Dhrupad is an ancient genre of Indian classical music that has been passed down for generations. Supriyo is accompanied by Aditya Dip on pakhawaj.
