Guitarist
Smokey Hormel has been playing barbes for over a decade alternating his Afro-Brazilian Secret Family with his western Roundup - but keeping it all deeply grounded and personal. His apparent eclecticism is also reflected in his work as a session guitarist - Smokey Hormel has had a strong presence on many influential records. Beck's grammy winning Morning Phase, Sea Change and Mutations, Adele's 21, Johnny Cash's Hurt, Tom Waits' Mule Variations to name a few plus others by Neil Diamond, Wanda Jackson, Joe Strummer and Marianne Faithful.
