Before Squid Game, there was The Running Man! Join Sleepover Trading Co. and Avalon Lounge on January 22nd for the 1987 dystopian action classic from the mind of Stephen King and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. (See the original before the 2025 remake comes out!)
It's 2019 and most popular TV show, The Running Man, is a state-controlled game show where incarcerated criminals can earn their freedom by surviving as "runners" against lethal "stalkers". No one survives but the game has never had a runner like Arnold! Co-starring an eclectic cast that includes María Conchita Alonso, Yaphet Kotto, Jesse Ventura, Jim Brown, Mick Fleetwood (???), Dweezil Zappa (???) and real life Family Feud host Richard Dawson, expect explosions, one-liners and dance routines from Paula Abdul!

This screening will kick off with a special pre-film clip show featuring specially curated trailers and commercials. The pre-show begins at 7:00pm with the film at 7:30pm at the Avalon Lounge (29 Church Street, Catskill, NY).
