Snehesh Nag  - Sitar

Snehesh started learning Indian Classical Music and the Sitar from his father, Sitar virtuoso Pt. Sugato Nag belonging to the Sarod Gharana of Senia Shahjahanpore at the young age of four. He has also taken lessons from Shri Pranab Naha. Snehesh was attached to the ITC Sangeet Research Academy (SRA) as a junior scholar from 2010 to 2015 under Guru Padma Bhushan Pandit Buddhadev Das Gupta.

 

An extremely gifted musician, Snehesh blends a lot of “emotion, surprise elements, and aesthetic touches” on the sitar during his recitals which makes listening to him a pleasure. He has performed to learned audiences in Kolkata, Mumbai, Poone, San Fransisco and Vancouver. His solo performance at the 18th ITC SRA Sangeet Sammelan in November 2010 and the recent performance in Maitreyee Music Conference, Kolkata, was highly appreciated. He has stood 2nd in All India Radio (AIR) music competition, 2014. He was awarded the Acharya Allauddin Khan Memorial Award 2014 from Mumbai in Jan 2015 and has become a regular performer for All India Radio .

Snehesh is also learning the tabla from Tabla maestro Pt. Tanmoy Bose and taking vocal instruction from Shri Sandeep Nag. 

Aditya Phatak is a very young student of Indian music, with special aptitude in Tabla. He started playing tabla at the age of two, even before he was tall enough to reach the drums. He was initially inspired by his grandfather Deepak Phatak and guided by his uncle Shivraj Phatak. Since February of 2008, when he was four years old, he came under the loving mentorship of Pt. Samir Chatterjee in the formal Guru-Shishya (master-disciple) relationship. Seven years into his talim (grooming), through utmost sincerity and diligence, Aditya qualified to make his entry into the field of performance. His music is certainly worth listening to. He is also studying Hindustani Classical vocal music with Smt. Rucha Jambhekar.
