== BIOS & CONTEXT ==

Mose
"Great music carries the present-minded listener to the doorstep of infinity..."

Mose is based in Guatemala where cacao ceremonies and ecstatic dance have had a major influence on his productions and DJ style. It is here that he founded regular cacao dances where members of the community have the opportunity to journey deep into dance while held in a ceremonial container, free of alcohol.

Beyond the multicultural rhythms and the steady hypnotic beat, Mose weaves ephemeral chanting of sacred songs and calls to love, kindness and compassion, often bringing in live musicians to create something improvisational connected with that particular place and time. He creates with the intention to set a foundation for self discovery and the cultivation of a present minded state which offers new insights and deeper clarity in ones purpose.

Numatik
Numatik is a visionary musician and producer renowned for his captivating fusion of world, electronic, and experimental genres.  Through his immersive compositions, he weaves together intricate and powerful rhythms, textured soundscapes, and organic instrumentation to create a truly unique and soulful auditory experience.

With an understanding of the power of music as a transformative medium, Numatik takes his listeners on an enchanting journey of self-discovery and exploration.  Drawing inspiration from ancient musical spiritual traditions and infusing them with the cutting-edge elements of electronic music and sound design, he creates a sonic tapestry that transcends boundaries and defies genre classifications.

Franko Heke
Franko Heke, of Ngāpuhi Māori and Italian descent, is a musician known for his unique fusion of mantra and reggae ‘Cosmic Kirtan’.
Through his music and workshops, Franko seeks to raise consciousness and promote unity, drawing on his Māori heritage and ancient mantras.
Heke is more than just a musician; he’s a catalyst for unity, celebrating our connections to each other and Mother Earth, and his message is reaching audiences far and wide.

Bruna Bortolato

Bruna Bortolato is a spiritual guide, mentor, DJ, movement teacher & ceremonialist who, with deep dedication, initiates cacao ceremonies, opening hearts to feminine power and profound healing. Her journey began at the age of 23 when she bravely left Brazil to explore yoga, meditation, and ancient wisdom around the world.

Now settled in the heart of Guatemala, surrounded by majestic mountains and the El Fuego volcano, she shares her passion and love for Cacao with those seeking transformation. Bruna believes that Cacao is a gateway to the heart of the Earth, a key to deeper love and compassion. Through the extraordinary gatherings she organizes with her partner Mose, she invites celebration of life, embodiment of oneself and one’s dreams, and true freedom. She inspires the creation of a space where participants can experience tender presence, cultivating gratitude and love as foundations for a better world. Bruna has studied holistic coaching for over four years and has attended and hosted many workshops and retreats. She teaches embodiment through sacred movement, a practice of being in your body—that ignites creativity, connection, and community.

Primal Movement Workshop with Jhana LaMar

Come warm up the deepest recesses of your muscles through slow and intentional stretching and body exploration. You will be invited into a variety of yoga poses with plenty of space for organic and intuitive movement. Through the practice of embodying different animalistic poses & qualities, you will have the opportunity to awaken the unique creature inside of you. This practice is intended to be restorative, healing, and ever~so~playful for your creative expression to shine through.

== A NOTE ON PRICING, ACCESSIBILITY & REFUNDS ==

Our finances work differently than other venues. We are  small, independent and non-alcoholic space, which means we have to charge more for tickets to make our numbers work.

We love producing shows for the community -- and it's financially risky. We value both accessibility for the community and paying our artists & crew what they ask, while caring for the land as well. It's a continuous balancing act.

Some of our shows are sliding scale starting at $30.  A few times a year we host higher ticket productions which are a key part of how our community supports itself.

==> Low on cash?
If you’d like to join us but are low on cash, please email us at [email protected] & let us know what you CAN offer

We reserve discounted spots available for those who need them, including BIPOC & economically disadvantaged groups.

==> Can you support?
Conversely, if you are in abundance & can offer extra, there is an option for an optional "GRATUITY" on the ticket page.

A $5 tip is automatically added but can be adjusted up, down or removed. Tips are shared equally amongst the community crew who produce the event. Thank you for helping make this dream work!

==> Financial Transparency
We know coming to our shows is an investment, of both your time and money. Here is a rough breakdown of where your money goes when you buy a ticket.

Of a $79 ticket (assuming 200 tickets sold)
$27 goes to the artists
$17  goes to outside production partners
$12 goes to the Hawk's community crew
$8 goes the venue
$8 goes to advertising
$3 covers cacao
$4 covers credit card & ticketing fees

==> REFUNDS & RESALE: Refunds are not available. If you wish to re-sell, we recommend using the Facebook event page associated with this show. The Hawk also moderates a Telegram group. If you are buying tickets from people online, *please check with us first* to make sure they are genuine. Ticket scammers are becoming increasingly common on social platforms. We will not refund a ticket if you are scammed!
