Modern Moves 2023

Modern Moves is a vibrant dance performance, showcasing the remarkable talents of nine up-and-coming choreographers. The artists will share their unique visions through the power of dance and choreography. Come enjoy an inspiring evening of live art with Modern Moves 2023.

Biographies:

 

Amina Kolenc (she/her) earned her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Montclair State University. She has performed in works by Brice Mousset, Urban Bush Women, Stefanie Batten Bland, Michelle Manzanales, and Christian von Howard. In addition, she has participated in the Bates Dance Festival and workshops with the Limón Dance Company. Her choreographic work was featured in Montclair State University’s Dance Makers 2023 and Creative Collaborations 2022, in partnership with Arts by the People. She recently moved to Rutherford, NJ, and is excited to bring dance performance to the community.

Jordyn Cherry (Somerset, NJ) graduated from Montclair State University with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Communication Studies. She has performed repertoire by Winston Dynamite Brown, Brice Mousset, Urban Bush Women, Steffanie Batten Bland, Paul Taylor, Larry Keigwin, Kathleen Kelley, and Jessie DiMauro Marks. Jordyn also is an aspiring choreographer debuting work at Montclair State, as well as the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (BAAD). Currently, she's pursuing her technical interests in communications and production, by doing grant and promotional writing, social media managing, and co-directing her first show, “Modern Moves” in Rutherford, New Jersey. 

Doors open at 7pm and the show will begin at 7:30pm.
