About Liz and the Lovelies
LIZ AND THE LOVELIES is the Americana project of singer/songwriter, actor, and teaching artist LIZ CHIDESTER. Originally from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Liz has been writing and performing original songs since age 10, learning to play guitar from her uncles around the fire at family gatherings. Moving to Chicago in 2013, she has performed and released original music consistently, winning NPR's NewSong Songwriting Competition, an Independent Music Award, and a Great American Songbook Award, her songs featured on NPR's All Songs Considered. Some of her releases include PEOPLE PUMPING PEDALS (2013), OTTER HILL (2015), PROGRESS INTO SIMPLICITY (2017), OTHERSIDE OF THE DARKEST TIMELINE (2021), and BILLY (2024). She is a member of the Recording Academy and Folk Alliance International.

Liz is also a Jeff Award winning actor, the Chicago Tribune calling her "one of the most truthful actors in this city." She is an Ensemble Member of American Blues Theatre and Company Member of Firebrand Theatre. She has worked as a collaborator, composer, puppeteer, and actor with PigPen Theatre Co., Chicago Children's Theatre, and Cabinet of Curiosity.

For a decade, Liz was a teaching artist at the Jalopy Theatre's big brother: the historic Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, IL, and now is a teacher and arts education advocate for NYC's Education Through Music. She studied voice classically with Dr. In Dal Choi at James Madison University.  www.lizandthelovelies.com

About the Oh Boys:
Chicago-based The Oh Boys is a vintage-inspired powerhouse of Pop, Rock, Folk and Doo-Wop, whose songs feature tight harmonies, inventive arrangements, and poignant lyrics. Veterans of the stage, their live show engages and entertains with a sense of humor, spontaneity, and melodic storytelling. Audiences near and far agree, everyone should Listen to The Oh Boys.

“The Oh Boys have a joyous energy to their songs and performances. Their unconventional combination of rockabilly, psychedelic rock, and doo-wop is refreshing!”
