This galère gathering isn’t simply about the poems, but also the poet’s muse, how the verse came to be. So, if writers write to expose themselves and actors act to hide themselves . . . poets pose as spiritual coroners—examining both the living and the dead—via self-evisceration. A psychic operation that allows the assemblage to decide if the work’s DNA is that of an archangel . . . or Frankenstein.

Jerry T. Johnson, Carolyn Marosy, and Pops Peterson

Jerry T. Johnson is a poet and spoken word artist whose poetry has appeared in a variety of literary publications worldwide. Jerry is the author of two poetry collections: "A Coldness" published by Finishing Line Press, and "Poets Should Not Write About Politics" by Evening Street Press which was selected winner of the 2020 Sinclair Poetry Prize.

New Jersey native Carolyn Marosy is a musician/songwriter, poet, and activist. Her most recent EP release, "Loners, Misfits and Rebels," reveals her art with a raw edge and a genuine, very personal depth. Carolyn is a part of a documentary produced in the UK, "On Resistance Street," currently making the rounds at film festivals internationally. Carolyn now lives in Kingston, NY with her wife, two black cats, and numerous guitars.

Pops Peterson's articles on the arts and celebrities have been published in The New York Times, Andy Warhol’s Interview, Essence Magazine, and The B, where his column, Pops’ Corner, is a regular feature. Pops is also a visual artist, known for his acclaimed series, Reinventing Rockwell, which was the longest-running solo exhibition in both The Norman Rockwell Museum and the State House of Massachusetts, Boston. This coming fall he is excited to debut his poetry anthology podcast, Ear Candy Poetry.
