Josie Ala Quartet Live at Blue LLama Jazz Club

Josie Ala is a trumpeter, pianist and vocalist from Windsor, Ontario. She is currently based in Michigan and is in her senior year at the University of Michigan studying jazz trumpet under the guidance of Bill Lucas. She will receive her degree in jazz studies this Spring.

During her time at Michigan, Josie has played with notable artists such as Christine Jensen, Melissa Aldana, Charles McPherson, Terrell Stafford, and Jeff Hamilton. In 2020, she played with Ellen Rowe’s Momentum at Kerrytown Concert House, and on the Blue LLama stage. Josie gigs regularly in the community, including every Monday at Zal Gaz Grotto with the Paul Keller Orchestra.

She recently released her first quartet album, “If I Were A Bird”, which is now available on all streaming platforms. Her album release show, “If I Were A Bird – Live!” is now available on YouTube as well.
