Hootenanny

Hootenanny is a unique industry event supporting the family music artist community. The party originated in 2007 when a bunch of family musicians got together in Brooklyn to play music for each other, talk, and have a good time. It was awesome. Lifelong friends were made, seeds of collaborations were planted, and it continued in various forms for years. Lots and lots has happened since then. The event evolved into the successful Kindiefest music conference which ran through 2012, bringing together all the strands of family music.

In 2016 some of us decided it was time to get back to the music. We reunited an ever expanding group of great family musicians, new and old, and the results were epic nights of community, collaboration, and music for all. We’ve had a pause since 2018 due to life, pandemics and such but we are thrilled to be bringing it back this fall. Music makers are invited to come out and talk with friends in the scene. Make new friends. Hang out. Celebrate collaboration and make music together.
