Byzantine art, American music, and Early Christian theology come together in Erik Della Penna’s new project.  

Musical fragments from Byzantine manuscripts were used to create concise compositions. And these became the template for this acoustic trio to improvise. 

Come hear this archaeological dig into ancient music, carelessly rendered and naively informed by both Mediterranean antiquity and American roots music.

As Brave New World is to the future, Byzantine Stompers are to the past: Both prophetic and inaccurate.
