Elijah Wald

Elijah Wald has been performing for over forty years in a wide variety of styles, from blues, folk, swing, and cowboy songs to classic Swahili pop and the Bahamian guitar style of Joseph Spence. He studied and played with Dave Van Ronk, the Congolese master Jean-Bosco Mwenda, and the Black string band master Howard Armstrong. He is also one of the foremost historians of American roots and pop music, and his shows are an entertaining journey through evolving and overlapping worlds of sound.
