Drummer's Secret Handshake is Marshall Trammell performing with Aidan J Samp, Tony Cenicola, and Robert Dennis.
Marshall Trammell is an experimental archivist, percussionist, conductor, and composer. His aesthetics and activism are centered in social change interventions and generate new local and global ecologies that embrace improvisation as a collective, movement-building tool in the creation of post-capitalist imaginaries. Trammell’s work also uses political aesthetic theory, data creation, mapping, and collective music-and-artmaking in order to step out of the domain of traditional cultural institutions, relocating the act of co-production back in the community.

Aidan Samp is a drummer, percussionist and educator born and raised in California and based in the Hudson Valley. He thrives in expressionistic musical settings, drawing from his background and his family’s lineage in the improvised and creative music of the late 60’s Jazz tradition and art/poetry of the Beat generation, along with ancient ritual rhythms drawing from many points of reference through time and place. He strives to create collective trance through physical and spiritual catharsis, both for himself and the audience.

Returning to drum throne and stomp box after a hiatus spanning decades and oceans, Tono-Bungay are back with their original lineup.
These grizzled veterans of the free-improv scene will be known to those music lovers who avidly followed their career of storied live presentations and acclaimed releases (Twisted Village, Squealer, New World Of Sound, et al) the first time around.
