StretchMetal presents: Drone Rodeo ft. Luke Schneider / Pure Waves

The Avalon Lounge and StretchMetal are proud to present the first-ever Hudson Valley edition of Drone Rodeo, StretchMetal’s monthly ambient music series in the round.

Pure Waves is an instrumental ambient psych-folk duo Pure Waves  Infinite horizons of analog synth tones dotted by passing clouds of breezy pedal steel guitar: grounding, dreamy, and peaceful sounds for embodied movement.

Luke Schneider is a pedal steel guitarist based in Tennessee, native of Dayton, Ohio. Over the past three decades he has established himself as an in-demand session and touring musician across the Outlaw Country, Indie/DIY, and experimental scenes in Nashville. Most recently, He has found his place in the landscape of New Age and pastoral Americana music. His well-received debut solo album, ‘Altar of Harmony’ (Third Man Records), is a collection of cinematic ambient compositions created entirely by pedal steel. His work on a follow up EP ‘It Is Solved By Walking’ continued his experimental elevation of the pedal steel guitar and delved deeper into meditative and calming sounds.  Amongst many others, Luke Schneider has performed and collaborated with William Tyler, Hayden Pedigo, Orville Peck, Soccer Mommy, Margo Price, Lambchop, SG Goodman, and Peter One.

StretchMetal is a nonprofit resource network, label, and concert series promoting emerging artists in the ever-evolving landscape of abstract sound. Based in Chicago and the Hudson Valley.
