Hip Hop Halloween :: DECA & DJ MARVL + Chachillie

Hawk & Hawthorne is bringing together the best of the fresh school for a word-bending avatar-descending year-ending jam for Hip Hop Halloween.  Fire enough to keep your embers glowing through December.  

Feat: DECA & DJ Marvl + Chachillie, a curated open mic of local MCs (please RSVP) & a fireside freestyle cypher hosted by Numinous the Bard & friends after the show.  

This an intimate venue with limited tickets -- beyond getting close & personal during the artists' set -- there will also be opportunity for in person connection around the fire afterwards & to spit your own bars with these supernovas under the stars.

For those traveling from from afar (or who want to hang late around the fireside cypher) camping passes are available to stay the night on Hawk & Hawthorne's beautiful 50 acre permaculture farm bordering Pisgah National Forest.  You can find these as an add on on the ticket page.

Working out of New York, and previously a vital cog of Denver's early 2000's Hip Hop machinery, Deca is a gestalt rapper-producer, and visual artist who just released his tenth studio album Smoking Gun. His work deftly blends psychedelic raw production with sharp insights and impeccable lyricism. But it's more than that... Smoking Gun is a sonic representation of an artist grappling with living in America, a country with a network of broken systems that leaves many of us questioning when, and if, it may turn around.

CHACHILLIE

Step into the enchanting world of Chachillie, a rapper, blues, and folk singer-songwriter hailing from the vibrant musical landscapes of Asheville, NC, and Memphis, TN. With a one-of-a-kind style that defies categorization, Chachillie is a true musical enigma. His lyrical prowess and mesmerizing performances have made him a celebrated figure in the world of rap, but Chachillie's talents extend far beyond hip-hop. With a soulful voice and a guitar in hand, he effortlessly weaves blues and folk melodies into his repertoire, captivating audiences with his unique blend of musical genres.

The Hawk & Hawthorne is a practicing permaculture community & venue nestled just north of Asheville, NC. Check out the short video below for a glimpse into the magick.

Set in a freshly renovated heritage tobacco barn amidst an expansive valley full of fruit trees, gardens, spring fed ponds & majestic views. The Hawk has been an organic gathering point for the Asheville & Barnardsville community for over 30 years, hosting hundreds of weddings, workshops & intimate live performances.

The community here is emerging in response to the challenges of our times -- drawing strength from folk traditions and each other to create containers for the emergent human renaissance to celebrate & grow. Through cooperation, music, crafting & regenerative agriculture practices, we are rediscovering our sense of belonging; to the land & each other.

=== CAMPING AT THE HAWK ===

To get the most of all the Hawk has to offer, a limited number of camping passes are available for purchase on the ticket page so you can stay the night of the show. A camping pass includes 1 tent for up to 2 adults.   Checkout is 11 AM the next morning.

Camping at the Hawk includes:

- access to drinking spring & forest trails
- 3 "real" bathrooms with 1 hot shower
- Wifi & electricity
- chill living room vibes in the Barn
