Join us for a very special Dance Lab gathering!
We'll start with a guided movement class in Sufi Whirling with guest teachers Aziz & Anna who are visiting all the way from California. This will be followed by a live musical set with Karavan Sarai + a DJ set with Omar Aena.
This will be a safe and inclusive space, welcoming people from all walks of life to freely express themselves through movement. No prior dance experience is required, just come as you are!
Schedule:
7:30PM: Doors Open
8PM-9:15PM: Sufi Whirling workshop with Anna & Aziz
9:15-11PM: Ecstatic Dance with Karavan Sarai & Omar Aena
11-11:30: Sound Bath + Closing Circle

Artist Bios:
Aziz Abbatiello was raised in an American Mevlevi family, as he started to walk the path of the mystics following in the Sufi tradition.
He was initiated as Semazen in 1996, and has made Semas with several Sufi groups in America and abroad.
Anna Whirling is from the Ukraine. In the beginning of the war she moved to Turkey and then came to USA.
Anna has been practicing whirling all her life since childhood. She has performed on stage with different groups for over 20 years.
