DANA LYN - IN RESIDENCE SATURDAYS IN NOVEMBERComposer-violinist Dana Lyn inhabits a musical world somewhere in the Venn diagram of 70’s art rock, classical, traditional Irish and improvised music. She has written music for Brooklyn Rider, Palaver Strings, A Far Cry and the National Orchestra of Washington and performs regularly with Taylor Mac, Stew, Hank Roberts, actor Vincent D'Onofrio and guitarist Kyle Sanna.
Dana has performed at Barbès in a variety of contexts, including her group
Mother Octopus, the string trio
We the Gleaners as well as a monthly residency with guitarist
Kyle Sanna.She will be in residence every Saturday in November at Barbès with different guests every week.

Apple Hill String Quartet are the Artistic Directors and resident musicians at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music, winner of the CMAcclaim award from Chamber Music America. The Quartet serves as the Music Directors for Apple Hill’s Summer Chamber Music Workshop in Nelson, New Hampshire, known for cultivating connection among people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages through its guiding philosophy,
Playing for Peace. The Quartet will be performing music by Dana Lyn, including "The Ceremony That Never Was" and "Suite for String Quartet and Fiddler."
The Apple Hill String Quartet features violinists Elise Kuder and Jesse MacDonald, violist Mike Kelley, and cellist Jacob MacKay.
