Dress Code: Casual, comfortable, descent. Please take off your shoes before entering the studios.
Food and beverage: Only water is allowed inside the studios. Please bring your own supply.
Sankrith Ramani obtained his first formal exposure to Carnatic music under Smt. Anu Ikriti, followed by 8 years of initial vocal training under Smt. Preetha Narayanaswamy. For the last 7 years, he has been learning in the Trichur Brothers Online School of Music under the guidance of senior faculty Smt. Girija Venkataramani. Furthermore, he has undergone extensive and advanced manodharma training from the Trichur Brothers, Shri Srikrishna Mohan and Shri Raamkumar Mohan, and completed his vocal arangetram. Sankrith is a rising sophomore at Columbia University, intending to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry with a minor in Music. Outside the classroom, he is the Musical Director of Columbia's South Asian fusion acapella group, Sur, and the Events Chair of CU Raaga, Columbia's South Asian classical music organization.
Tanisha Srivatsa is a junior at Barnard College, Columbia University studying Economics. She is originally from the Bay Area, California. Tanisha has been learning Carnatic vocal and violin for the last 14 years and is fortunate to have been under the guidance of Smt. Charumathi Raghuraman for the last 7 years. She is also the president of Raaga, Columbia’s Indian classical music club, and sings for Columbia Sur, the South Asian acapella group.
Sanjay Natesan is currently pursuing advanced training in Mridangam from Kalaimamani Thiruvarur Vaidyanathan. In addition to Mridangam, he is also trained in Carnatic Vocal, carnatic flute and other Indian percussion instruments such as Kanjira and Tabla. Sanjay is a senior at Columbia University pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Economics.
