The Ruşen Acet Trio
Rusen Acet, an Istanbul-based musician, plays the kabak kemane and is joined by
Murat Keyder on oud and
Nezih Antakli on percussion.
Ruşen C began his musical journey with the bağlama and kabak kemane, learning folk music from his uncle. While studying engineering at Ege University, he got involved in music groups and instrument making. His thesis on composite kemanes won first prize from the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers. From 2019 to 2022, he studied Sound Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and has performed internationally in various projects, including the U.S.-sponsored One Beat program in 2016. He was a member of the Ruhi Su Dostlar Choir from 2014 to 2019 and is currently part of the Şenkop Band, while also focusing on instrument making and music technologies. His Lego Microtonal Guitar, developed with Tolgahan Çoğulu, won a design award at the Georgia Tech Margaret Guthman Competition. For more details, visit
