BRM Concert + Jam ft. Trio Xalam

Listen to the infectious grooves of Trio Xalam as they perform an Afro/Near Eastern/ jazz set. The night will feature the cool sounds Brandon Terzic on Oud and Djeli Ngoni, Rufus Cappadocia on the 5 string cello, Matt Kilmer on percussion, and some special guests.

About the Artist

Oudist-composer Brandon Terzic has performed with everyone from jazz iconoclast Henry Threadgill to Sudanese pop star Alsarah. His artistry draws from the confluence of Arabic, West African, Hindustani, and the American Jazz/blues traditions.

Matt Kilmer has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors including being named a Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute fellow. A highly sought after percussionist, he has collaborated with artists as diverse as Louis CK, Reggie Watts, Simon Shaheen and Lauryn Hill.

Master Cellist Rufus Cappadocia is a celebrated innovator in his field, having played with the Black Rock Coalition, Yacuba Moumani, Aretha Franklin and many more. His innovations have extended the range and vocabulary of the cello, adding African and Near Eastern modalities in its expression.
