Bluegrass Harmony Singing 101 - A Three-Week Class with Christian Apuzzo and Phyllis Elkind

In this course, we will develop our Bluegrass vocal harmony skills with other singers in a welcoming and supportive environment. Singers will learn harmonies to their favorite choruses and duets throughout Bluegrass history and will develop the skills necessary to add harmonies to any song they hear. We’ll cover basic vocal techniques, warm-ups and exercises, as well as ear training and using a number system for note values. Using the number system, we will be able to work in multiple key areas to fit a range suitable for everyone’s voice. Taught by singers Christian Apuzzo and Phyllis Elkind.   

This class is open to any singer who feels comfortable holding a tune. Open to guitarists who know the basic chords of C, D, G, A, E, F, Am, Em, Dm, B7. Ukuleles, Mandolins and other strumming instruments are welcome to join and learn the songs, but you may need to play a few additional chords since guitars will sometimes be capoed to different keys. Basses and fiddles, you'll be able to double the voices!

Breach of the foregoing will automatically terminate this license. Holder agrees that the license comprised by this ticket may be removed and Holder may be ejected from the event for which this ticket is issued in the event that Holder violates any law, ordinance, or venue regulation. Holder grants permission to the organization sponsoring the event for which this ticket is issued to utilize Holder’s image or likeness in connection with any video or other transmission or reproduction of the event to which this ticket relates.
