GLAS (Voice) plays the intimate, soulful roots music played and sung by Macedonians, with a focus on songs whose offkilter rhythms, microtonal scales and intricate ornaments help tell stories about the joys and pains of life lived close to the bone. Playing as a duo (
Vedran Boskovski plays tambura, kaval and gajda, the core folk instruments of the macedonian tradition, and
Corinna Škėma Snyder sings) lets them get closer to the way these songs were sung in the past - at home, at work, with friends and family, around the table.
