Baithak Series: Magic of Gwalior and Bani & Beyond
Day and Time
Indian Classical Music Society of Vancouver (ICMSV) and Sargam UBC present the second event of 'Baithak Series: Gharanas & Banis'. This unique, virtual, double-bill, weekend-long program features ITC Sangeet Research Academy Scholar Samarth Nagarkar, who will explore the facets of the legendary Gwalior Gharana of khayal music with Keval Kavle (Harmonium) and Vivek Pandya (Tabla). This will be followed the next day by an exhilarating performance by 'Ghatam' Dr. S. Karthick and his son Sarvesh Karthick, looking at the newly emerged Vikku Bani of Carnatic percussion. Both groups will perform a repertoire from their respective styles, and their performances will be followed by a Q&A session.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale basis to increase accessibility, and fees will go towards access for both virtual events. Sliding scale donations range from $15 to $75, with the majority of revenue going towards supporting the featured artistes, so feel free to contribute as much as you can!
• Venue •
It's all virtual! No need to pay for parking, worry about leaving the house on time, or finding babysitters for the kids. It is truly a baithak, as both artistes and audience alike will enjoy the program from the comfort of their own homes.
