In 1972, Sydney Pollack filmed vocal powerhouse Aretha Franklin recording her transplendent gospel album Amazing Grace with the Southern California Community Choir. Technical issues kept the footage in the vaults, that is until film producer Alan Elliott restored it to its proper glory 30 years later. The resulting effort stands as a memorial to the vocalist and her immense talents, captured with stunning visual and sonic clarity against the backdrop of a lively, dynamic church audience.
