We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Ecstatic Dance Nyack event, centered around the theme of Abundance! 🌿✨ In this dance, we will move as seekers, weaving through the currents of possibility. Through the sacred act of movement, we open ourselves to the flow of abundance that lies hidden in every moment, every breath. We are not simply participants; we are creators, manifesting from the deep reservoirs of our spirit and calling forth the gifts that await us on the other side of surrender.

Ecstatic dance is a form of freeform movement where participants let go of inhibitions and dance to the rhythm of the music without following any structured steps or routines. It's a way to express oneself authentically through movement in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

Ecstatic Dance Nyack's program features six key components:
  1. Opportunities to meet fellow community members and strengthen relationships.
  2. A dance warm-up that prepares the body and spirit for an evening of dance and somatic exploration.
  3. An extended set of curated dance music.
  4. A meditative sound healing experience to bring restoration after lively dancing.
  5. Complimentary fresh fruit and water, plus organic, locally-foraged beverages and snacks for sale from local artisans.
  6. A non-denominational altar to facilitate introspection and affirmation of one's own personal values, memories, aspirations, and intentions.

ECSTATIC DANCE NYACK GUIDLINES
  1. First, Dance with Yourself: If you choose to dance with others, do so from a place of giving, not taking.  All physical contact with fellow dancers must be consensual. Consent is Freely Given, Reversible, Informed, Enthusiastic, and Specific (FRIES). To separate from a dance partner,  you can show hands in prayer to signal your  respectful departure.
  2. No Alcohol: Movement is medicine. The spirit of alcohol is not welcome at Ecstatic Dance Nyack. To maintain a space of sensitivity, authentcity, awareness, and clarity, we invite you to experience the depths of your own being without alcohol. Plant medicine is welcome only if used privately, respectfully and responsibly.  No smoking within 50 feet of the premises.
  3. No Speaking: Ecstatic Dance empowers participants to explore and express themselves with movement and body language. The cessation of speech unblocks wellsprings of feeling and emotion that are otherwise limited by words. Connect with yourself and others in a new way.
  4. No Phones: Havent you spent enough time looking at it already?
  5. No Photography or Video: What happens here stays here. To allow for fully authentic expression and exploration of our deepest emotions, free from all forms of shame and guilt, participants can be assured that their experience will never be known outside the walls of Ecstatic Dance Nyack.
  6. No Shoes: To stay grounded, protect everyone’s feet, and maintain cleanliness, please do not wear shoes on the dance floor. Socks and special indoor-only dance shoes are permitted.
  7. Be Yourself: This is a judgment-free zone. Allow your body the freedom to move however it needs. All ranges of emotion and expression are welcome here, from joy to sorrow, and everything else. Let movement and music guide you to feel and display every part of yourself. All of you is welcome here.
About Alicia Royce:
Alicia is a New Jersey native with a lifelong passion for dance and the moving arts. She graduated college with an art and dance degree. Her dance career led her to perform and teach.

But injuries and other life challenges in her late twenties guided her on a path of inwardness, connecting deeply with spirituality, meditation, recovery and wellness practices; understanding alchemy at work.

She is currently an active yoga teacher and fascia release energy worker.

Throughout her work experience, Alicia loves to serve and provide a gateway to the joy of movement. She is always grateful to participate in Ecstatic Dance warm ups, as this practice has done a lot for her own evolution by providing an open space to reveal the truth on a path to Oneness.

She also loves to draw inspiration from interests such as music, salsa, partner work, martial arts, breath work, float therapy, nature, and other various curiosities.

Alicia looks forward to facilitating this Ecstatic Dance with her activating routine/movement as medicine called in-SYNC-tual Flow. Expect heart led - breath work, rhythm, fluidity, coordination, light foot work, floor work, balance, connection…see you on the dance floor!
