A special screening of
THE MOON IS ALWAYS FULLfollowed by a performance by
MARE BERGER
“The Moon is Always Full" is a documentary film that follows the process of creating a sectional dance work based on the song cycles in album (with the same name) by Brooklyn based singer songwriter,
Mare Berger. Each of the dances in the film is linked to a song, thematically connected to a season, a time of day, a chakra center, and a phase of the moon. By following the artists over the three years of creating this project (2020-2023), the film explores the creative process, collaboration, and healing through art making. The film also stands as a testament to the difficulties faced by artists during the COVID years, and to the ultimate tenacity of the creative drive. Choreography and dance performances by Emily Pope, Hannah Louise Barnard, and Catherine Murcek. Music by Mare Berger.
Filmed by
